Ingredients
- 100g tuna
- 1 medium carrot
- 50g flour
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
Method
- Preheat oven to 180°C before starting preparation.
- Shred the tuna and grate the carrot into very small pieces.
- Put all the ingredients in a bowl, together with the beaten egg to make a dough and mix it well.
- Add the flour little by little until you get a dough with the right texture. Make small balls and place them on the baking tray with baking paper.

- Alternatively, you can also make them in the oven, cooking at 200ºC for about 15 minutes until they are crunchy
How to adapt your own cat treat recipes
Any type of pastry recipe can be adapted to make your own cat treats at home. From a delicious sponge cake, all kinds of biscuits, muffins, to your favourite baked appetisers. Just keep in mind that your cat’s nutritional needs are very different by following these tips:
- If you use canned meat or fish for your dishes, choose those that do not contain salt or oil and are suitable for pets.
- Remove bones from fish and meat, as they can cause choking.
- Do not add sugar. If you want to make a sweet recipe, you can use a little honey, or add fruits that cats can eat.
- Try including an extra vegetable such as courgette, carrots and green beans; delicious and very good for your cat.
