Allergic to cats? Here’s how to get rid of those symptoms.

Main symptoms

Cat allergy symptoms are not very different from those of other type of allergies, so it’s perfectly normal for you to notice an itchy feeling in your eyes, nose or even your mouth.  Also quite frequently, sore throat, coughing, stuffy nose, runny eyes and even asthma.

So, we recommend that, before starting any type of treatment, you go to see your allergy specialist to have the appropriate tests done to be able to identify the type of allergy you have. Once your allergy to cats has been confirmed, we also recommend that you go to see the veterinarian to clear up all your questions and more than likely to do away with more than one misconception in this regard.

For example, did you know that not all cats cause allergies to the same degree? Besides, it would be a good idea to prevent your cat from spending a lot of time in rooms or on surfaces you normally use often. Don’t allow your cat get up on the furniture or go into your bedroom.

Bear in mind that we cats are very independent animals, and if you prepare a space for us with a comfortable bed, we’ll be more than happy to spend part of our time there and respect your personal space.

Lastly, we recommend that you talk to your physician about prescribing some type of specific treatment and that you also talk to your veterinarian or pet shops, where they can give you advice concerning products and lotions you can use on your cat for relieving your symptoms.
